WSPS Certification
To apply for the Water Supply Protection Endorsement, a licensed plumber or irrigator must first obtain a Backflow Tester Certification from one of the Board’s approved providers.
Important Note: The SPBLA endorsement authorizes a licensed plumber to install, maintain, modify, and test backflow assemblies, where an irrigator with the endorsement is for irrigation systems only.
If you are NOT a licensed plumber or irrigator but wish to become a certified tester ONLY, please contact the Louisiana Department of Health for further guidance
The State Plumbing Board currently accepts all testing certifications issued by ASSE or ABPA. These two certifications are National Certifications; which means they can be earned in any state however the providers below are known administers of the exams in the state of Louisiana.
